Their number one goal is to prepare children for kindergarten.

Their curriculum takes into account the importance of social skills and group-work while focusing on the necessary educational skills.

Head Start teachers are constantly receiving the most current training in childhood education and development.

They also work closely with the local school systems on many issues.

Head Start provides transportation where available, breakfast, lunch and a snack, services for children with disabilities, family nights, parent groups and more.

They also have an on-going evaluation process that allows the teachers and parents to monitor the child's progress.

Using this team approach, they are able to determine the best possible path in preparing your child for kindergarten.

Early Head StartEarly Head Start is free, full-day, year-round childcare for eligible parents working or going to school.

They provide lunch and healthy snacks and age-appropriate activities.

They understand that each child is an individual and work with them accordingly.

Their mission is simple:

To enhance the development (physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language) of very young children, and promote healthy family functioning.

They do this through their preventative health care program, their tracking and screening of your child's progress, a nutritional agenda and more.

They accept children from 6 weeks to 3 years old and also have a full Pre-natal program that offers pregnant women various forms of assistance.

They can provide a ride to the doctor's office, track the development of you and your baby, and help you prepare for birth and the years after.
