Head Start is a federally funded program targeting 3 and 4 year-old children from low income families in Stuart, Port Salerno and Indiantown. Families who have children with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Children enrolled the Martin County School District Head Start Program follow the District's K-12 school year calendar and are provided full day, quality learning experiences and instruction. The instructional focus is on school readiness.Parents will need to bring:Birth Certificate (Must be at least 3 years old by September 1, 2011)Proof of residency (Current FPL or cable bill)Proof of all household income for 2010 (Examples include: W-2, 1040, TANF, SSI, Alimony and Child Support)Proof of documented disability (If applicable)
